STOP implementation plans must describe how the state consulted and coordinated with the governments of all federally and state-recognized tribes located within the state. During this workshop, Nicole Matthews, member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, discusses various ways to connect with tribes, provide ample opportunities for tribes to offer their opinion, and incorporate their input into your STOP Implementation Plan. This workshop also provides context as to reasons tribes may feel hesitant to participate in the planning process and how Administrators can demonstrate respect and awareness of historical trauma to build trust.
