STOP TA Clinic 11/13/23: Underserved Populations and Use of Data with Shira Phelps, Lori Miller, Gene Nelson, and Diana Fleming

In addition to identifying Underserved populations in the state or territory and a strategy that includes appropriate ways to address needs, the STOP Implementation also requires that states and territories describe how Underserved populations were identified and the results of the methods used. This information includes demographic data, but should also draw on qualitative data that are gathered to support an understanding of community context, circumstances, experiences, barriers, challenges, and resources, and can inform the development of the grantmaking strategy and approaches that would be considered fundable to address Underserved communities’ needs.

During the November 13, 2023, STOP TA Clinic, several current STOP Administrators share the ways in which they have engaged with communities and organizations serving Underserved communities and the results of these partnerships. Join us for a conversation with fellow STOP Administrators to hear about their process and best practices for identifying Underserved populations in their states or territory. Administrators will gain an applicable understanding of how to use qualitative and quantitative data to strengthen their grantmaking strategy to adequately identify and improve support for Underserved populations in their state or territory.
